Rainey (WW Surf Runny)

  • Date Received:  April 11, 2020
  • Birth date:  June 3, 2016

  • History:  Rainey has a long racing history and interesting pedigree.  Her sire is Surf Lorian, an  Australian Greyhound , whose pedigree is also all Australian; her dam is WW’s Hay Fever, a U.S. girl, although she has some Irish ancestors.  Her dam only had one litter of five, all of which raced.  Rainey’s 108 race career began at Derby Lane on January 20, 2018 and ended at Birmingham with a “vet scratch” on January 1, 2020.  Her career was at Grades C and D.  Her tail has been docked and although we do not know the cause, she was scratched from four races beginning on September 4, 2019.  We assume she injured her tail at that time and it was ultimately amputated.  Rainey’s bio will be updated as we learn more about her.

See Greyhound-Data.com for more information.

April 12, 2020 update: Foster update:  Rainey is settling in very well.  She is sweet and friendly.  Her tail only stops wagging for naps.  She slept through the rain and thunderstorm last night with no reaction.

April 11,
2020 update: Rainey came to TAGS for a life of retirement and to find her loving lifetime home
