Join TAGS for a fall road trip to Ben Wheeler, TX. This is an outing for all Greyhounds and Greyhound owners. Ben Wheeler is a little over an hour's drive from Dallas. (See directions). It is near Canton, and Edom is
"just down the road". October 18th is also the Edom Arts Festival.
There is no set time – arrive and leave when you want, but most people will be there by early afternoon.
We will meet in the Historic District of this small East Texas town for an afternoon of shopping, eating and showing off Greyhounds!! You can eat at Moore’s Store (and listen to music) and the Forge Bar and Grill; shop at the Secret Garden, American Emporium, Gum Creek Mercantile and Harrison & Son Knifesmith, have a snack at Scoots N Scoops (ice cream parlor and motorcycle shop), and wander through art galleries, Walking Horse Gallery and the Fly Fishing Gallery. There should be lots of outside seating and places to hang out.
Hopefully by mid-October, the weather will be cool. It sounds like a greyt day to make new friends and introduce East Texas to the wonderful world of Greyhounds. We will also meet up with TAGS alumni, Pippi and Gatsby, and the McGee family.

Although TAGS will not have a booth at this event, please bring your dogs and enjoy the event. It will be fun to meet other Greyhound owners with their dogs (and with TAGS’ foster dogs). We will be glad to make arrangements for you to have brochures and cards to hand out to those interested in adopting a Greyhound.
TAGS Spring Greyhound Walk – 6701 West Parker Road, Plano, TX
- Saturday, March 31, 2018 - starting at 9:30 am (weather permitting)
Bring your Greyhounds (or other breed dogs). Walk as long as you want. Meet other Greyhound owners and fosters. We will have plenty of TAGS brochures/cards to hand out to anyone who is interested in a Greyhound. Hopefully the Easter Bunnies will be busy elsewhere!! There are always many dogs there (lots of small ones) but be sure you know how your dog reacts when meeting other dogs and make safe choices for all dogs. Everyone is welcome – the more the merrier!! Of course, this is dependent on the weather. You know how spring storms are in Texas.
TAGS is planning some fundraiser eBay
auctions to help alleviate the cost of caring for TAGS' Greyhounds.
