GREYHOUND
LURE COURSING – April 14, 2012 - 9:00am
You are invited to enjoy a Greyhounds Only Lure Coursing Fun Day at the Haggard’s Farm in Celina, Texas. This is a chance for all of our greyhound friends to get together and play. Bring your puppies, old dogs, have never run a course dogs and any greyhound that just wants to have fun. We will have a simple, 300 – 400 yard course set up and will work with any dog to get them started chasing that plastic bag bunny. In addition, there will be a 150 to 200 yard straight course using a squawking, long tailed track lure for those who do not want to run the lure course turns.
The entry fee for lure coursing or straight racing will be $10 per dog, which includes lunch for one person. For one entry fee, your dog can run as many times as he is able. The cost for lunch is $5.00 per person if your dog is not running, either coursing or straight racing. There is no cost for your dog to play in the play yard. The fenced play yard is often the highlight of the day for many of the dogs and their owners. All proceeds from this event directly benefit TAGS.
All you need to bring is your dog(s), a leash, a crate if you don’t want to hold your dog all day, and a MUZZLE if you want your greyhound to enjoy playing in the field with the other greyhounds or chasing the squawking track lure (it’s very expensive!) There will be water, kiddy swimming pools and a pond to cool the dogs off. You may want to bring a chair and some cold water for yourself if this warm weather continues.
Celina, Texas is just north of the Dallas metro area between McKinney and Denton. The Dallas North Tollway extension now runs all of the way into Celina, so getting there is easy. Directions!
If you think you might be coming please RSVP to Deann (email or 214-914-0191) so that we have enough food for everyone. Also, note earlier start time due to the unseasonably warm weather.
